How to prepare for recruitment

Friday, July 14, 2017

The recruitment process is a very exciting time, but it can also be very over-whelming when you're unsure of what's ahead. Following is a checklist of some of the things you will need for the recruitment process. A full checklist can be found here

Do research

Check out your college Panhellenic website to find when your campus' recruitment is, what chapters are located on your campus and who you can contact for questions. This page can be found on your school website under organization or Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Talk to family and friends what are sorority  members

Talking to current sorority members and alumnae members is a great way to learn about all the things sororities have to offer during both your collegiate career and post-graduation. These women can provide you insight into their sorority experience.

Registar for recruitment

To go through the recruitment process you must register for recruitment. This link can also be found on your school website. For help on registering for recruitment, click here

Know our values and be true to yourself

Before recruitment starts, think of your values and what is important to you. You will make more meaningful connections during the recruitment process if you tell the women you talk to what you care about most.

Get to know your recruitment  counselor

Different schools have different names for their recruitment counselors, but ultimately recruitment counselors are women that have given up participating in their chapter's recruitment so that they may assist potential new members (PNMs) like you go through the process. Because they went through recruitment, they help make the process easier and know how excited you will be.

Create a personal kit for your purse during recruitment. Suggested items:

  • Mints
  • Pens
  • Umbrella
  • Tampons
  • Band-Aids
  • Bobby Pins
  • Water

Is She?

Guess which of these successful women started in a sorority?
