Scholarships & Alumnae Support

Friday, March 11, 2011

If there's one thing sorority sisters love, it's seeing each other succeed. In life and in school, the fraternity and sorority community is a support system unlike any other. But as you'll find out, the desire to help each other succeed doesn't just end at graduation; alumnae organizations and member groups love to help their active collegiate sisters. And one way they do that? By providing scholarships.

That's right: Alumnae Panhellenics are just waiting to give money to hard-working, deserving young women. And guess what? Many even offer scholarships to high school seniors. If you're a high school senior, that probably sounds pretty good. Scholarships from Alumnae Panhellenic organizations are about helping women, regardless of sorority affiliation. These orgnizations are all about sharing the gift of sorority membership with other women, and that can include you. Alumnae Panhellenics aren't the only groups that offer scholarships. Most inter/national fraternities and sororities also provide scholarships for their members. Every NPC member group a foundation that is focused on helping members. Scholarships are only part of what foundations do; they also promote the organization's values and assist in the development of members. But they're about support, and it's a kind you can't find anywhere else. You can find information about each organization's foundation and the scholarships they offer here.

Scholarships, sisterhood and support are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to sorority life. Membership in a Greek-letter organization is a lifelong bond that is unlike any other experience. The next time you see a sorority woman, ask her about how her organization has supported her. You'll be amazed by all the ways she's experienced its support!

Is She?

Guess which of these successful women started in a sorority?
